According to Las Vegas police, an accident in the Northwest Valley took the life of one individual on April 22. The police have noted that this particular area has become well-known for auto accidents, and more than 34 have taken place just this year alone. Right now, the actual person who caused the accident has not yet been named as it is still under investigation.
Early in the morning, at the intersection of Jones Boulevard and Tropical Parkway, two vehicles met in a collision. A 2002 Dodge Intrepid was traveling on Tropical Parkway. At the same time, a 2011 Dodge Durango was traveling on Jones Boulevard. Both vehicles entered the intersection. The Durango T-boned the Intrepid, its front end colliding with the driver’s side of the car.
The 66 year old woman who was driving the Dodge Intrepid died at the scene. The woman driving the Dodge Durango was taken to the hospital for moderate injuries, but is expected to recover fully. At the time of this report, the names of the two women have not yet been identified. Additionally, the actual parameters of the accident have not been fully investigated either.
At this time, we do not know who was at fault for the accident, although it is clear that someone ran a red light leading to the collision. Because of this, whoever was at fault can be held liable and may face a personal injury case. If the woman who was injured was at fault, then the surviving family of the woman who passed away may be able to sue for wrongful death. If the woman who died was at fault, then the injured woman may be able to sue the insurance company.
Again, there is no way to know the answer to this question simply because all of the details of the accident have not been released. No matter what, it would be smart for the injured woman, as well as the surviving family of the other woman, to seek legal representation. That way, no matter what happens, they will have an attorney with them to ensure they get represented properly and that their rights are looked after.
If you are injured in a car accident, the very first thing you should always do is contact medical help, as soon as possible. You will also want to check and see if the other people in the collision are okay. Do this only if you are physically capable. If you are severely injured, don’t take the chance of hurting yourself worse. As soon as you can, then, you should seek the help of an attorney. If the other driver was at fault for your injuries, then you will want to pursue a personal injury claim. That means, then, that you will require the help of an attorney. Not just any attorney will do in these situations. Be sure you seek the services of a lawyer who has experience with personal injury claims specifically.
