Siria L. Gutiérrez
Siria L. Gutiérrez (pronounced “Sydia”) immigrated to the US from Guatemala as a baby. Growing up in Northern California, she moved to Las Vegas after completing her undergraduate studies at the University of California Los Angeles. Siria clerked for the Honorable Valorie J. Vega in the Eighth Judicial District Court of the State of Nevada after earning her law degree in 2010 from the William S. Boyd School of Law. Before joining the Bighorn Law family, Siria defended Fortune 500 companies, casinos, insurance companies, and various professionals including other lawyers, architects, and board members. She now uses the knowledge and skills that she learned on the defense side to help individuals build their cases and be prepared for what the insurance companies will throw at them.
Even though Siria was on the dark side, her commitment to the community has always been present. While in law school, she helped found the now two-time award-winning mentorship program Huellas (“Footprints” in Spanish), established in 2008. Huellas is a four-tier pipeline mentorship program designed to encourage minority students to enter the legal profession. Siria is an active member and past President of the Las Vegas Latino Bar Association. Siria currently serves as Vice President of Soroptimist International Metropolitan Las Vegas. Soroptimist is an international non-profit volunteer organization of women dedicate to improving the lives of women and girls throughout the world through education and empowerment. SIMLV focuses on bringing awareness to human trafficking in the Las Vegas Valley and mentoring girls on career opportunities.
When Siria is not litigating or volunteering, she is an advocate for mental and physical health, enjoys live theater, is a huge fan of the CW show Supernatural, and loves traveling and spending time with her boyfriend.
